Franchising wasn’t slow at all, it was one of the purest forms of scale I’d ever seen.
For years, I thought franchising wasn’t for me. I was deep in the venture world, scaling IP, chasing valuations, building fast. Franchising felt like the “slow lane.” But then I got a front-row seat. Through Revscale, I connected with the founders of Bloomin’ Blinds, attended their annual conference, met the team, and talked with franchisees. What I saw flipped my perspective. Franchising wasn’t slow at all, it was one of the purest forms of scale I’d ever seen.
Franchising is about more than replicating a business model, it’s about creating accessible ownership. Not everyone wants (or needs) to build from scratch. With a proven system, people can step into entrepreneurship without the paralysis of starting alone. That’s equity in action, giving more people a shot at building generational wealth, joining the middle class, and owning something they’re proud of. It’s not hype or viral growth; it’s a machine that works, and a mission that matters.
This week, take time to reflect on your own business model. Could it be franchised or licensed? Or if you’re exploring ownership for yourself, could a franchise be your entry point into entrepreneurship? Look beyond hype and focus on scalable systems that give you equity, and a future you can pass down.
At the end of the day you need to make the business work for you and learning new ways to scale gives you more optionality to get there.
