Why Moments Matter More Than Momentum
Lesson: The Moment That Slowed Everything Down
Business has been loud lately. Calls, decisions, people needing things. That constant feeling of being slightly out of breath. But a moment last week reminded me what actually matters. Watching my daughter experience our Korean traditions with my dad felt grounding in a way nothing else does. Three generations, same roots, same rituals. For a little while, time slowed down.
Insight: Growth Shouldn’t Erase Your Roots
- Business Will Always Ask for More: There will always be another opportunity, another fire, another goal. The noise never really stops.
- Tradition Creates Perspective: Remembering where you came from helps you stay clear on why you’re building in the first place.
- Moments Don’t Schedule Themselves: If you don’t protect time for family and meaning, the calendar will fill itself with everything else.
Building something meaningful shouldn’t mean forgetting the people and traditions that shaped you.
Action Item: Protect One Moment This Week
- Choose a Family or Personal Tradition - Something simple that connects you to your roots.
- Block the Time Intentionally - Treat it like an important meeting you won’t cancel.
- Be Fully Present - No phone, no work, just the moment itself.
